As a parent, one of your goals is to provide all the needs of your child. Also, you need to be a loving and fair parent to your child. However, Christian parents want to do more for their child; it is to share the love and unending grace of Jesus Christ to their kids. This is what Christian parenting is all about. It is to share the love of Christ and the stories of his greatness to your children. So how can you do this kind of parenting to your children? It is only normal for parents to implement set of rules that must be obeyed by their children. These rules need to be followed until they already know how to decide the right things for themselves. Also, you have to be fair if you have a lot of children. You must explain the rules clearly to your children. You cannot erase the fact that there will be times wherein you can be like other parents who shouts and hurt their children whenever they make a mistake. This is not what the bible teaches the parents. If you will let your children live according to the teaching of Jesus Christ, there is no need for you to raise your voice or even hurt your children. The bible said that children must obey their parents and honor their mother and father. If they will live their life based on the teachings of Jesus, you can be assured that your children is taking the right path. However, it does not mean that you do not have to be strict with your children. When they made a mistake, you still need to punish them. If you said that they are going to be grounded, then you must do it. If you did not punish them, they will not see the authority in you and there is a big possibility that they will do the same mistake over again. As a Christian parent, you have to go on the rules that you made. Raising your voice and hurting them is not a sign of authority. A true sign of authority is doing what must be done and implementing it accordingly. Jesus allowed the parents to discipline their children the right way. Spoiling them will not bring them anywhere. Punish them when they make mistakes but do not be too harsh on the punishments. Guide them to the right path through the word of Jesus.
