You need a designated craft box in your home. It could be a shoe box or any old cardboard box.You may also make use of a drawer in your house as a craft box - Totally your decision. Really does not have to be anything fancy but simply some space assigned for storing things you need for all your craft activities. You will be storing some small objects in this craft box, if you have young kids store out of reach from your kids.
A few things you can store in the craft box are: pain brushes, small bits of colourful cloths, scissors, glue, felt shapes etc etc. Visit your local craft shop or your two dollar shop - Pick up some craft goodies. Don't end up spending a lot of money though - Take your time to fill up the box. There is no hurry. Put items as and when you find them. There after, should you come across something that you believe can belong in the craft box, place them in there - example: bits of paper, old socks (you may make a sock puppet) etc. Couple of good indoor craft ideas: Make Plate Drums Take a paper plate - Turn the plate over and get your child to do some painting, colouring on the plate. Fold it in half - Put some rice or something you believe can easily create a good musical noise whenever you shake it. Staple alongside the edges - Ensure your child's art is shown on the external side. Shake Shake Shake - You now have a drum in your hands. Puppets Out of Popsicle Make some puppets using popsicles, pipe cleaners and google eyes. Make-up a tale with the puppets. You can have your own puppet show. Prints Out Of Potatoes Take a potato and cut it in two. Use a pencil to draw a design on these cut pieces. Carve your design with pencil. Put some paint in a tray. Dip and press the potato design firmly. Use Socks To Make Puppets You may use any sock for this - I prefer a colourful sock for this activity. Using a glue gun, attach yarn hair - you may also add-on some moustache. Stick eyes on. There you have it - you now haveyour own personal sock puppet. Make a few more characters. Recreate a scene from one of your child's favourite books.
