Let's look at a few things that may make your decisions a little bit easier. Typically, your child's bedroom is not very big. It's commonly a good idea to fine furnishings that can have multiple functions. For example, CD and DVD storage can be built right into the headboard, or clothing drawers that pull out from under the bed. "Treasure" chests have multiple uses, too, such as a bench to sit on. Having a friend over can be a whole lot easier if the room is equipped with bunk-beds. Another great option is the trundle bed. A separate bed pulls out from beneath the primary bed, providing sleeping quarter for a friend, or simply more playing space for your kid. You always want to make sure you look for furniture that's made well and is sturdy. Children are known to be a bit rough on furniture, so you'll want to choose pieces that can stand up to a lot of wear and tear. Be sure to check the obvious safety hazards, like making sure the bunk bed safety rails are tight, and that the ladder is well built and secured properly to the bed. Once safety concerns have been studied and met, then comes the task of picking out something that will be both pleasing to you and your young one. It's good to remember the time frame you estimate this furniture with remain in your home. Kids today seem to sprout right up, and there belongings can become obsolete very quickly. Their preferences shift, too, as they grow and mature. Refrain from certain themes that your child may soon find too "childish" if you wish to keep from replacing it often.
