Every little girl wants the perfect birthday and while it can be stressful organising a party for your little one, there is something guaranteed to occupy the group of excitable children, and that is party games. There are a number of games you can organise for a party that will ensure the children have an enjoyable time. Of course every child is different but if you're planning a party for your daughter, then here are some game ideas for you to consider.

Fashion Show Most little girls love to play dress-up so let them create their own fashion show at the party. Collect a range of clothes from dresses to shorts that the girls can use for their fashion show, or you could select some fancy dress wear for the girls to use. Once they have selected an outfit they can perform a fashion show and they each get a prize which can be sweets, little plastic trophies or home-made badges.

Hunting Treasure Treasure hunts are always great fun, and can make the perfect party game. All you need to do is hide small gifts (sweets, chocolates) around the garden or home, and draw a funny map or give clues as to their locations. It's a great way of keeping everyone occupied for an hour or so, and it's also something that everyone can get involved in and enjoy.

Cooking Games Most young girls also love to bake. It's really good fun and gets everyone involved in something really productive. It's probably wise to go for something simple like fairy cakes or cookies, as you don't want to spend too long doing it, or create too much mess. To make things even easier, you could always buy some kits with ready made ingredients.

Musical Statues It's a classic party game but it still works. Little girls love to dance so get them altogether for a game of musical statues. You take control of the music and when you stop the music without warning the girls have to stand as still as a statue. Anyone who doesn't freeze in time will be out and the child left standing gets a prize.

Board Games You might not usually think to play a board game at a children's party but some youngsters who don't like to be running around may enjoy taking in a fun board game. Plus, this is a good idea if the kids get a bit tired from running around but still want something to do. Just make sure you pick board games that allow more than 2 players and they're not too difficult for the children.

Hot Potato Hot potato is a great game that can be played anywhere and requires little or no money at all. All you need is some music, a ball and some space. Invite your party to guests to gather in a circle and start passing the ball around. Whoever ends up holding the ball when the music stops has to leave the game.
