Your DSST Study

Over time, with more hours invested in practice, you will get much better at studying, which makes learning and recall of details and info easier and simpler. A lot of tricks, tactics and methods exist that you can apply to improve your knowledge and raise your test scores.

The first thing you have to focus on if you expect to do well with your study plan is to get all of your materials together. So designate a location, and then use it to store anything relevant to the examination, from textbooks to practice tests to class notes, in that spot.

The second step is for you to have a study routine in place. The key is a little bit at a time, frequently, over a long time period. The further ahead the DSST exam lies, the much more you should focus on finding a strong understanding of the units that the exam is going to cover.

So that you do not get too tired or bored, attempt to plan for study intervals that occur more often and are shorter, rather than longer study intervals.

Ask the testing agency if they can supply practice tests. You may also find them on the internet. See if you know someone that has taken the DSST and ask them for pointers. Begin or join a group to help make you study on a normal basis.

Do not leave preparation for the test until the last minute! Make sure and give yourself adequate time prior to the day of the test so that you can study all the materials you will need to know.
